Time to Ponder More than QB Change

The 2013 Vikings started the year with optimism after a resurgent 2012 and a strong finish from their QB.Then they went 1-3 in the pre-season and started the regular season 0-3 as they scurried across the pond to play a home game away from Minnesota.

Many Vikings fans want to blame this on 3rd year QB Christian Ponder. Most of this anger from fans come from media manipulation. Is Ponder the answer at QB? Probably not, although he is not the problem either. I wrote on 19 Mar 11 that he was a developmental QB at best and recommended we draft Kaepernick? Hmmmmm.....anyway.

The media continues to throw Ponder under the bus, firing up fans incapable of seeing the big picture or think on their own. My problem is the media, who in the past have attacked Vikings Coaches with .500 or better records demanding their firing. Yet they refuse to hold current HC Leslie Frazier accountable despite going 3-3, 3-13, 10-6, and 0-3 (after 1-3 pre-season).

Another HC named Les that we all would rather forget was fired after 1 season after going 3-13 (see above). Mike Tice was fired after going 8-8. Brad Childress was fired after going 6-10, 8-8, 10-6, 12-4, then falling apart in his final season mainly due to the age and injuries of Brett Favre.

Why is Frazier being treated with kid gloves? Why is there no accountability? What about OC Musgrave being held accountable for an anemic offense with pathetic and predictable play calling?

There is no accountability for a poorly coached and consistently unprepared team not ready to play on game day.

Before @cponder7 is run out of town, having never been given a chance to succeed, those responsible for his development and growth need to be fired. Ponder is a game manager, granted not the long term answer but he can steer the ship until we do finally find that franchise QB.
